Technical Superintendent

This is a key technical role, providing oversight across a mixed fleet and working closely with vessel crews, Masters, Chief Engineers and shore-based teams to maintain high standards of vessel reliability, safety and compliance.

The Role

• Take responsibility for the technical management and performance of assigned vessels.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Masters and Chief Engineers.
• Monitor vessel condition, maintenance and machinery performance.
• Plan and oversee dry-dockings, repairs, maintenance and surveys.
• Manage technical budgets, procurement and service providers.
• Ensure vessels comply with class, flag State, statutory and company requirements.
• Support inspections, audits and vetting requirements.
• Investigate technical defects, breakdowns and incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Work closely with marine, crewing and other shore-based departments.
• Attend vessels and travel to ports as required.

About You

• Certificate of Competency Class 1 or 2 (Chief Engineer) is required.
• Experience across tankers is highly desirable.
• Strong technical knowledge of vessel machinery, maintenance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing dry-dockings, repairs, surveys and technical projects.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Comfortable working independently and with vessel crews and shore-based teams.
• Willingness to travel as required.
